'Halcyon Rising' is an 8 track debut album five years in the making.

The collection spans Autotelika's creative evolution from the early days of pandemic lockdown experimentation in Melbourne, Australia through to new beginnings in Brisbane, Australia.

Leading with "Rezonate"—the album's first single and final song written—cited as a personal level-up moment in composition and production that set the tone for the debut album release.

The collection then continues, showcasing fan favorites "Transcend," "New Frontiers," and "Astral," alongside earlier breakthroughs "Refrain" and "End of April," and the more cinematic synth-forward "Xpanse," before rounding out the sonic landscape with the atmospheric journey of "Floating."

Each track tells its own story: "Refrain" and "End of April" represent the earliest work, capturing breakthrough moments in production technique and sound design from the pandemic years. While "Xpanse" showcases the Korg Minilogue XD—Autotelika's first physical synth—demonstrating the power of minimalism with the album's leanest instrumentation.

Between the chaos of preparing for an interstate move, stolen creative moments gave birth to "Transcend" and “New Frontiers”, with both tracks eventually being completed once settled in Brisbane.

"New Frontiers" stands as the album's most evolved track—a deep, personal goodbye to Melbourne. Started while preparing to leave the city, it incorporates field recordings captured in the epic Dandenong Mountains, a place that held special significance during the Melbourne years. The track underwent a complete rearrangement mid-process and remains the only song on the album to retain its full percussion arrangement. It represents both an ending and a beginning, sonic proof that art holds space for transformation—capturing what we leave behind while helping us step into what comes next.

"Floating" took the longest to complete at 18+ months. The track was picked up and put down repeatedly, benefiting from everything learned across the other tracks. Its gentle nature provides a chill counter to more intense tracks like “Rezonate”. While "Astral" marks the start of the Brisbane chapter, written entirely in a makeshift studio, carrying unexpected influences from 90s dance and pop classics.

The album title draws inspiration from the word "halcyon"—evoking peace, nostalgia, and golden moments. Through atmospheric soundscapes, rich synth work, and carefully crafted production, 'Halcyon Rising' invites listeners into a sonic journey that blends melody, emotion, and the joy of creating with intention.
